So I got up from playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein and what should I find sitting in a little plastic tray by the desk but a fat brown recluse spider. It's one of only two poisonous spiders we have around here, the other being the Black Widow spider. Now the sensible thing for me to do would be to pick up the shoe that's two feet away from it and smash the fuck out of it until it's a hairy, gooey brown mess. But the first thing that comes to mind is "A brown recluse, shit, I hope it doesn't run away before I can grab my camera and get some close-ups of it!" My mom thought this was totally unreasonable. But I did get my shots. Note that the spider only has 7 legs! I wonder how it lost one? |
